Derbyshire Time Swap – Time Well Spent
As the Derbyshire Time Swap project draws to an end, this website will be shut down on the 26th of October 2026. We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey.
Over the years, our community has shown the incredible power of sharing time, skills and kindness. But the true legacy of Derbyshire Time Swap goes beyond the hours exchanged. It lives on in the friendships formed, the connections made and the stronger, more supportive communities we have built together.
Although Derbyshire Time Swap is coming to an end, the spirit behind it will live on. We’re excited to look ahead to Together Derbyshire, a new service that will continue to champion social connections, community involvement and belonging.
Thank you to every member and organisation who has helped make Derbyshire Time Swap so special. You have made a lasting difference, and we hope the friendships and connections you’ve made will continue to flourish.

ABOUT DERBYSHIRE TIME SWAP
Time Swapping (or Time Banking) is a fantastic initiative which allows members of the community to ‘swap’ their time to help somebody else. This support can range from assistance with gardening, to teaching I.T skills, or giving cookery lessons - the sky is the limit!
In return for this, a member of the community earns back time which they can spend doing something they want to - like learning a new skill or receiving help from another member. Members can even donate time they have accrued to other members if they wish. Time is the only currency used.
Needless to say, Time Banking presents tremendous benefits across the entire community.

3. INDUCTION
To make sure that all members and swaps are safely managed, we will support you through an induction, where you will be provided with a Member Handbook.
We will also show you our online system where swaps can be arranged – TOL2
4. GIVE TIME
Find opportunities to give your time on our system or let your coordinator know what you might be interested in.
Our Member Handbook has important and useful information to help your swap be a success.
